Congregation for Humanistic Judaism (CHJ)

We are a different kind of Jewish congregation. Here's how:

We provide a spiritual home for those seeking the celebration of Jewish identity, culture, holidays and history, together with a deep commitment to the humanistic values of justice, peace, charity, equality and love for all people and for our planet.

We demonstrate our commitment to those values in many ways:

  • We warmly welcome:
    • Jews of all denominations and backgrounds
    • Interfaith/intercultural couples and their families
    • LGBTQ+ individuals and couples
    • Those who need accommodation for disabilities
  • We join together regularly in English language services and educational events which inspire and challenge us through their words and music.
  • We work individually and collectively to help repair the world through charitable acts and social action.
